No no, I meant it as a joke. :P Just tell the guy who's calling you you don't have any friends. It should be funny hearing his reply on that one.

Lol! i'm so gonna do that if I ever get one of those calls :P although I'm very careful with my personal information.

Random relevant fact: If a company has you on their system, you can press 9 on your keypad while speaking to them to remove yourself from their system (Please note that this only works with about half systems used and that you have to be called by them for this to work)

Hey sorry to hear that i almost fell for the aution thing also cause i was the last to bid on something that had basically no activity just some random piece of junk that meant nothing to me to see if i could win the auction on the last sec someone put in a counter bid and i waited for the timer to count down to see if anyone was biding... Didnt waste as much as you but saw that thier is something fishy happening to get you to use more bid credits... So figured it wasnt though it after doing the maths a but... But hopefully you have better luck with the CPA and get some of your money back.

Damn, I actually joined their site through a link on FB. If I didn't read this would of started using it. Well at least you can find solace in knowing that you have helped a brother out =). Thanx for the thread

This whole episode has convinced me to make my smokoo thread a sticky. I don't know why I didn't do this back then but hopefully it will alert people that there is something fishy about it and I'll be adding info why it should be avoided and maybe other people will share their experiences.

Sure thing man at least it wasn't money wasted in vain.

Yep. I would have stopped after my first couple of auctions... but the money was already spent on credits :/

This site is pretty sweet. I never won anything but I don't really enjoy spending money on auctions. only lost about R100. It is legit though and you only pay for the bids you buy. You can buy bids in packages or sms at R5 a bid so its a similar principle. You can also buy the product at retail minus the bid money you have spent already:

You're punting another site that is based on a similar principle to smokoo and telling us you "only" lost R100? In what reality would it be a good idea for others to try their luck on this yastic site?
