Being able to watch blu-rays movies will be one of your biggest upsides of having a PS3!
Saying that - I hope you have a full HD tv because once you get a PS3, you will defiantly be tempted to get one.

So it can do 720p, but not proper fullHD 1080p. Still, looks pretty crazy with bluray as thats how it was demo'ed in the shop!!
Maybe I need another 50" - but this time FHD. I'll mount it about my current one
Has this price cut come in affect in SA yet?
I dont think so yet...still about a month off I reckon.
