Default The tale of Dungeon Siege II

Dunno if you have ever had this in a game. I bought Dungeon Siege 2 When it came out cause I absolutely loved Dungeon siege 1.

I finished it very quickly, and sometime during my December Holiday I started playing it again. I played it religously for a couple of days, until I got to the desert levels and before I knew it, seriously didn't even think about it, I just uninstalled the game. Now last sunday, I found myself staring at the installscreen progressbar again, played the game for about 3 hours, and then a trip to the uninstall screen happend again.

Thing is, I still think its a brilliant game, I can't find anything wrong with it at all, apart from getting rather bored playing it by myself all the time, yet I find myself missing the game in a weird way but a couple of hours gameplay and I leave it for some months again. If I could only get somebody to Lan it with....

    Ever had games like these?

Dude ... Dungeon Siege 2 is an ORSM game ... best part of the game is the warlock char that can transmute all your junk into a pile of gold! I played that game non-stop until I finished off the end-boss. I'm still thinking of getting the expansion...

I'll tell you now what the problem is. It's not the game as such. It's the fact that it's not multiplayer/online game.

After spending such a long time on MMO's or FPS online, you become accustomed to interacting with people while gaming...so playing a standalone title leaves you feeling just as alone.

You'd rather be bored in the company of others than to play an awesome single player title.

    Strange right?

I have the same problem with the following games:

    - The Witcher *one of my fav RPG's even*
    - Farcry2
    - Fable 2 *started again last night and now I'm determined to finish it.*
    - Sacred2
    - NWNights 1 & 2
    - Prince of Persia 2 thrones + Warrior Within

    All of them awesome titles.

I actually loved Dungeon Siege 2 when I played it - finished it and sold it a long time ago. Then one day saw it at a bargain with the expansion pack and bought it again. Started playing it again and actually also came up to the desert part and then stopped playing. Great game, but somehow it does tend to just go on and on... What I don't like about it is the retracking and the idea that you may have missed an area along the way.

The Witcher I also played and then suddenly stopped but haven't yet felt the need to complete it.

NeverWinter Nights 1 bored me to tears, and 2 seemed interesting but the inventory management killed it for me.

Finsihed all the Prince of Persia's except Warrior Within (once again backtracking which I don't like) - The last one ... two thrones was awesome with the one hit kills. Unfortunately the new "remake" is definitely not my cup of tea with the one button mashing...

Sacred 1 was cool but got frustrated when I hit a bug which pointed me to quest completion where I could never get to my destination. One hell of a long game that. Scared 2 I will probably play when it is rereleased as a budget title with it's expansion packs and patches. (Same as its predecessor)

Strangely enough the other 2 games that drove me to complete them were Dungeon Lords and Divine Divinity - 2 more obscure and not AAA titles.

    Ever played Guild wars?
It's got very much the same feel as DS for me and I play that online if the bug bites me again.
