The Dev Team says its tired of generic Terrorist Shooters, so what does it do, it develops an uber original game with aliens or some other lifeform hell bent on destroying something that you as the player have to shoot and kill
Sure, never been done before

The simple truth of the matter is that you have to have something to shoot, that's why the genre is called "Shooter"
Otherwise it would be filled with a normal guy, standing around and doing absolutely nothing, no such genre exists, oh wait, "Life" ?

This. It's funny that these developers seem to take the holier than thou route. Guess what? Shooting aliens is nothing new. So why is this game supposed to be touted as something 'new'. Generic terrorist shooters? Can we call Hard Reset generic alien shooters?

The problem with the terrorist angle is that it's just a silly attempt to be relevant. And of course it's conveniently whitewashed into a good versus bad scenario. Now of course if they made it a bit tongue in cheek, made fun of the war on terror theatre, I could go for that. Or they could go realistic - no good guys.
