Default Modern Warfare 3 Will Support LAN Play - Bowling

Lots of competitive questions from #XP2011. Yes, #MW3 has LAN along with detailed class restriction control + default class creation option.

Ability to restrict any weapon, equipment, perk, deathstreak, secondary, attachment, ANYTHING from being used when setting up game.

A fps shooter without a lan option is retarded.

Smart move this, even though I'm not much of a CoD fan they get a nod of approval from me. LAN capability is becoming increasingly rare in AAA titles. MW3 may now even surpass the original MW as a favourite at the big lans... maybe.

I'm glad some people still see the sense in including this option.

Unfortunately the trend has seemed to be not including an option to play over LAN.

I must say, that is surprising. Kudos to them for adding LAN, a feature that is fast being forgotten by other devs.

Will this 'LAN' make the final version?

i think this "LAN" functionality will require an internet connection

Well Blackops and MW2 have Lan as well, you still need to Authenticate with Steam though.

It will be the same here, it's not dedicated Offline LAN. Take black ops for example. I hosted 2x 18 player lans without hitch off a 4mb line.

You log into steam as per normal, Go into the game, Authenticate and go to Private match. As soon as all your friends joined, yo ustart the match and it automatically detects from the IP's that it's all LAN based.

Once you are ingame you will see that all the pings are Like LAN, Ranging from 2-10. So it's not 100% Offline LAN, bit it is regarded as "LAN" because of the latency etc.
