Usually I would play a game whichever I feel gives me the best advantages the first time, whether I then end up with a good, bad or neutral character. If the game was good enough to warrant a couple of extra play throughs, I try to give it a shot at both just good, and just bad the next times around.
I always go the good route. Can't get myself to be bad. I try to do bad in second playthroughs, but end up being good in the end lol.

I tend to play a game twice.
Once as a good guy and then I go back and be all bad.
Except for Dungeon Keeper , there I was bad all the time (Remember , its good to be bad)

I like playing "evil" characters who make good moral choices and perform good deeds (i.e. a lawful good Drow or, what I'm considering in Old Republic, a Sith Inquisitor with a soft heart).
I've tried being evil characters before in games like KotOR, Jade Empire, etc but I find it impossible. I regret my decisions and feel ridiculously guilty

I normally go good, but I do also take a few bad options depending on how I feel the character would react to the situation.
I look into the pro's and con's of either side for the character and then play whichever appeals to me. Then the 2nd run through / 2nd character I will choose the opposite.

1. First playthrough I play the choices I personally would make whether its good or bad, genereally slated more to good but not all out good.
2. Second playthrough bad guy/girl.
3.Goody two shoes character.
