When I was buying mine, the first thing that got me was first the size that I wanted then the price, next the resolution, then its display support i.e dvi, analog and hd etc then aesthetic appeal

Yep, that's what I'm still using too and couldn't be happier.

    Another interesting fact...

Led monitors are still lcd monitors. Although Samsung started the trend of calling them LED monitors.

They were around long before Samsung used the term. Nec made them long before Samsung did and well also had them in their monitors and precision range laptops.

The LED part has nothing to do with the panel and all to do with the backlighting that shine through the panel.

The top monitors like some of the nec, dell and apple displays have special rgb backlit screens which help the panel produce close to 100% colour correct images.

Unfortunately most people can only afford simple led and cold cathode backlit screens.

If you do ever get the chance, you should try to get your hands on a rgb backlit and IPS monitor... It really is something special.

If you are a graphic designer or use CAD in any way you will be amazed.

    Anyway... Enough of my secrets

    Nice info Darth.

Just one thing that doesn't quite sound 100%:

If the higher refresh rate of the screen is divisible by the source frame rate then it shouldn't degrade imo. The screen will simple show the same picture multiple times in a row. So a 120hz screen on a 60hz source should be fine. If the rate isn't divisible then its mismatched and then you'll need v-sync.

Height adjustable??? like can you place books under it...if so then yes, seems like a normal monitor.

    I panicked :P

I am not sure why i wrote it needs vsync.... That is if the source is too high for the screen.

The other part is correct though... Most movies that are not 3d are usually at a framerate of around 24fps.

This means that movies in particular do not display well on higher frequency monitors unless they are specifically adjusted for.

I do agree that you can make adjustments to the monitor to sync the frame rates but often they aren't exact and therefore show up... And more so on a higher frequency screen.

Will edit my previous post for the obvious mistake (problem with working on a phone, can't see your errors as easily.)

To the op.... Looks decent. Nice choice.

Yes, Height Adjustable, it's nothing new I own a Dell 24" and having a monitor that is height adjustable is a must for me. It allows me to set the monitor at eye level and place a center speaker under the monitor, or in your case "inside" the books
Don't shoot me for trying to take care of my posture We'll see soon enough the world suffering from an epidemic of osteoporosis lol.

And yes the monitor shows colors With it's RGB backlighting and IPS panel it produces close to 100% perfect color
