Another interesting fact...
Led monitors are still lcd monitors. Although Samsung started the trend of calling them LED monitors.
They were around long before Samsung used the term. Nec made them long before Samsung did and well also had them in their monitors and precision range laptops.
The LED part has nothing to do with the panel and all to do with the backlighting that shine through the panel.
The top monitors like some of the nec, dell and apple displays have special rgb backlit screens which help the panel produce close to 100% colour correct images.
Unfortunately most people can only afford simple led and cold cathode backlit screens.
If you do ever get the chance, you should try to get your hands on a rgb backlit and IPS monitor... It really is something special.
If you are a graphic designer or use CAD in any way you will be amazed.
