I would go with Vista Ultimate. I am running it on 2 of my own PC's and have no problems with it. So long as your system has decent specs, its all good.

Just personal pref. And it has nothing to do with ram. I just find XP more user friendly and clean as opposed to Vista.
I agree on, it really depends on which OS you feel most comfortable using

Currently running XP Pro 32bit, but I will need to get something else, was thinking XP 64bit seeing as I've experienced the blood curling screams from fellow clan members over Ventrilo because of seemingly common Vista failures, mostly memory leaks and graphics failures

Vista is a no-no. Only reason anybody would want Vista is if they can't run Windows 7 or XP! Either wait for the official 7 release, or just stay with Vista. But with all aspects Vista seems to be slacking.

There is nothing Wrong with Vista, there never was.

It was Hardware and Soft ppl, that did not listen to microsoft that they are Changing the keneral and old drivers will not work at all.(NVIDIA, ATI and HP I am looking at you here).
95 % of all problems where caused buy bad drivers since ppl dint listen.

Its also the reason I will never use Macfee and Norton as an anti Virus, since microsoft kicked them out of the kernal, but then they sue them to gain access so there crappy anti virus could work again.

If your a gamer you should have noiced that vista wasn't gaming friendly.
The Os loved sucking ram for the smallest little application...not to mention the fact that you never really own vista..You pay your ass off for it but it still belongs to microsoft.

I have been using Vista for 2 years now and like it better than XP. I would recommend 4gb of ram if you going to play Games.

Im running 4 gigs of corsair xms2 ram and vista still stabbed my gaming experience. As a business Os its pretty good but its not nearly as good as windows 7 for gaming. I'll be buying Windows 7 ultimate no matter the cost..its worth it!!
