Default ATI Gfx Driver 11.9 Problem

In order to play BF3, I was advised to DL the 11.9 gfx drivers for my HD6XXX. Did that. During the installation I got a BSOD. Reboot. Gfx obviously fucked and no drivers detected. I'm not entirely sure how I go about determining the problem. Thoughts?

I guess I could just DL version 11.8 but apparently 11.9 gives the best experience. So there.

I realise this is incoherent as shit but I haven't slept in about 4 days so go easy on me. And help

It should actually be the 11.10 preview driver.

Thanks. Will try that next. Any ideas on 11.9 if that does not work?

No idea. I update every second month - I'm lazy (and 11.08 was really stable for me)

You could try using driver sweeper in safe mode to get rid of any traces of the previous ati driver versions.

Same happened to me when i tried to uninstall the previous driver, got BSOD with memory dump.
Tried safe mode, wouldn't let me uninstall either.

Then i started windows again normally and it was fine.
    Removed old driver, installed new!

Running 11.10 on 6870. Runs really well.

Yip, had the same problem. You have the run the new optimised 11.10 catalyst driver which is specifically opted for BF3.

Only 6 days left, then the waiting game starts.

Well I'm still running 11.08 and seems to be working fine for me on my HD5770 series.
