Well, sadly the cash cow fate awaits most successful franchises that manage to see it beyond 3 games it seems. I mean if you look at the rate at which they put out games, there is no time to add radical things, large new ideas or graphics. Saddens one immensely =/
The man hours that goes into developing, refining and ensuring functionality of a game as large as Assassin's Creed is tremendous. And in any case with Ubisoft on board do you reckon you will get anything better than they are pushing out now if you had to wait 3 years between each game? Highly unlikely. They are more interested in numbers. But we'll see what they bring to the table with Revelations. Maybe after that I'll decide whether getting AC 3 will actually be worth it
Ah this explains the rapid role out. Oh and BTW, the release times between The Witcher and The Witcher 2 was 4 years. Assassin's Creed series pumped out 3 games in 3 years and is set to do 4 in 4 consecutive years. So in essence they merely released the game to progress a story rather than trying to innovate everytime and progress gameplay everytime :-P. Naughty, naughty, naughty Ubisoft.
