From 1997 to 2003, five titles were released in Hudson Soft's Bloody Roar series, a fighting franchise based around brawling human/animal characters known as Zoanthropes. However, since 2003, two years before this gaming generation kicked-off with Xbox 360, Bloody Roar has been dormant.
Any hope of a new Bloody Roar -- the first since Bloody Roar 4 came to PlayStation 2 in 2003 -- seemed lost when Hudson was folded-in with Konami. However, according to Hudson Soft's Twitter, a new Bloody Roar is indeed in production.
"New Bloody Roar sequel, is in production! we'll post more soon!" the Twitter feed reads. Hashtags are used referring to the game as the Bloody Roar 2012 project, insinuating a 2012 release. A hashtag is also used referring to the new title as Bloody Roar 5, so you can assume that that's what the game's title will be.
