Agreed....Not impressed at all with Origin. It is very limiting.

Got a nice surprise from Origin this morning. A voucher for a free game! To say sorry for any hassle with the client last week apparently. Fine print says the voucher can't be used for preorders but it's valid till the end of the year so not bad And it's valid for South African users!

Thank you Origin, even though I didn't have any hassles I'll gladly take the game.

    + 1 for Origin then.

That is epic. Awesome of them!
"multiplatform"... the word that ruins games for PC gamers.

Also got the same email with code I can redeem for a game. Haven't been online with my pc in about a week or so, so got no idea what my supposed issue with Origin was :/ lol.

Is it possible to use steam to download your games on one pc, say at varsity, and then transfer them to the pc you actually plan to play the games on? I just don't have the bandwidth available at home to download games but I could do it on my laptop at uni.

Yeah you can do this, you can use the backup feature and just copy the backups to the gameing pc and restore them on your steam.

Thanks so much man. I may just become a Steam convert. I've only used GoG until now.

Yes, Steam is excellent in that regard. I simply moved my hard drive from my old PC to my new one and all my Steam games just worked. Also, I have a buddy that also has steam and if he buys a game that I already have, I simply copy the "\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Game Name\" folder over to him and done.

No guts, no glory, no brain, same story.
