Yeah, I know, but sometimes I just like stoking the platform war fire for my own amusement.

For some reason none of that actually bugs me, firstly I don't hear better sound on the PC even with my Asus Xonar D2X compared to my consoles, yes graphically my PC might be better, but let's see sit at desk with a 24" monitor, waiting for it to install, download new drivers, configure it to make it work on my PC, keep tweaking it to get the best FPS vs GFX.
Compared to get home, slide Gears of War 3 into my xbox 360, sit or lay on my couch looking at 46" and having dolby surround sound on.
Time and money spent makes console a much better choice, but you do get people for some reason who honestly care about that instead of just enjoying the game on whatever platform they have.

No. Your dolby isn't sitting at your pc... So add that to the cost as well as the difference between a 24" and a 42".
Secondly... R4000 pcs outside 4 year old consoles as well as being able to use it for more than gaming and movies.

My console is reliable (had no problems from the start) and I love that Black Beauty to bits![]()
I really want to upgrade my PC but those damn console games keep tricking me into buying them.
Firstly have you heard a decent sound system hooked up to a pc? secondly yes playing on a 42" is nice but remember you not right on top of it like the pc monitor.
And I can do many things when my game is installing
But I do enjoy using a controllerfor certain games. But prefer the xbox for "Arcade" games.
Nope the Dolby Surround isn't at my PC, just a normal analogue 5.1 system, also just lately a 24" monitor isn't that far off a 46" TV ;-)
Also a R4000 PC will probably be on par with a console, which also can watch movies and play games on, remember both the Xbox and the PS3 have Divx support too, while a R4000 PC might be able to handle MKV, but as I said each to their own, I'm fortunate to have a choice and I do spend more time on my consoles, mainly the 360 over the PS3

lol nice post James. Give us the matches, sit back, and let us start the flame war.
I see what you did there, well played sir![]()
A 1080p 42" lcd is the same price as a 24"? Dont get me wrong some games on console are boss.
I said a few things I like about consoles earlier, but a lot of the points console gamers use are the "it can also do that" types...
The pc can do what a console does and so much more. If I wanted to, I could use a tv with hdmi and home theatre audio and even with an xbox controller...
Also more and more consoles are moving towards installing games. Mainly due to laser disc player speed problems.
