No matter how much the Verge tries to sugar coat that the snippet the fact is that it was really condescending to all gamers and in really bad taste in my opinion referring to the gamers as nerds and geeks and asking if the players have girlfriends etc

Why people feel the need to retardedly revive the dead "nerd" stereotype is beyond me. SO many people are gamers. Jocks are gamers. Everyone's a damn gamer. This chick clearly isn't and completely missed the plot. It's not offensive or insulting. It's stupid. I don't feel offended or anything. I just feel sorry for The Verve.

I am starting to lean towards the thought of " build a bridge and get over it " if we had to carry on every time a spng one made a buntch of stupid statments we would never stop maoning. take this moron for example.

Haha, The Verge's jokes were actually sooo weak/pathetic/lame and such an old, dry, stereotype no-one should even care. It reminds me of being back at school and having jocks tell me I'm a nerd. LOL!

I'm now not uninterested in the Verge because I feel offended, more just because of their complete lack of originality.

It was a little sad really...and the presenter...omg...don't even get me started on the stereotypes she's perpetuating. who talks like that?

This is pretty much my sentiment on the matter.

My personal opinion: Vote with your remotes. I have not seen the clip or watched commercial tv in ages, but, if the program sucked and offended so many, just dont tune in anymore...and soon it will be dropped.
