Spookie's got a point pirates can break an industry... if they really tried but thankfully there are loads of people who have common sense and do the right thing even if it does cost a bit.

The xbox's games get pirated maybe not as much as the pc's but still alot. the only downside is the chance of getting the xbox live account banned.

What I want is to be able to work once, then keep getting paid for it for the rest of life. Hell, my poor children will need to be able to keep getting paid for that work, otherwise the poor sods might have to get their own jobs and work for a living.

Anyway, no-one is working for free. And not because of any notions that buying is doing the right thing.

And if they're getting a low buy rate in poorer countries because their prices are high they'll get absolutely no sympathy from me. Instead of whining about how unfair it all is they can lower their prices to an appropriate level.

You don't really understand how royalties work, do you? Just because you only worked once doesn't mean you should stop receiving money for your product after a while. How about authors writing books, should it be frowned upon that they still receive loyalties years after the book has been published?

I agree with you on the prices, though. Lower prices = more sales. If only publishers can realize this.
