If you find that Openweb Std is not working - as in shaping is too heavy etc - its just a month to month contract, so just cancel and move onto someone else. Simple.
exactly my point! does mweb also have month to month? coz i know afrihost does.

Stay away from afrihost uncapped. Their capped accounts are fine but their uncapped fair use policy is horrific, Im on mweb now and Im happy with them.

I'm on Openweb's Standard uncapped @ R229, went for the special a few months ago. I'm fairly happy with it, most downloads run full speed (steam, http etc.) The p2p is definitely shaped but overnight downloads run pretty well. Ping is good locally but I find that my free FNB gig gives me a better international ping. I average around 90GB a month - so many steam specials .

For line rental you might be interested in using iSAt (www.isat.co.za). Their 1mbps lines are R249 a month and I've found there service to be simple and good, been with them for over a year.

It's handy to have separate providers for line rental and data as it allows you to be flexible. Both accounts are month-to-month.

Telkom is not bad hey, things dramatically changed for the better >> peering, uncapped etc, downloads are more stable on SAIX.

I queried the promotional trial today and asked about Mweb. They replied: "Mweb is ours, we are Mweb"

Can anyone shed some light on this comment?

I'm on the Openweb R299 account and i works beautifully. The cheaper accounts were shaped way too much for my liking.

Somebody said stay away from Axxess? Care to explain why?
