    Default Windows 8 Developer Preview

Anyone been trying out the Windows 8 Developer Preview?

I've installed it on a second partition on my netbook. It looks good and all but the whole "metro"-"windows phone" look doesn't really work well with non-touchscreen computers...in my opinion. Thankfully you can go to the normal windows explorer look at any stage.

I am curious about windows 8 however we haven't had a chance to test it out. If you switch to explorer what new things do you notice?

works fine in a vm or vhd, btw metro can be switched off it's not the alpha and omega, you will have to use it now and forever...

    What she said ^

There are some nice little things in the operating system.... my favourite is the hint of a new file system

I would also like to get a hand on it. When will it be open to full beta testing?

I wonder how much of the OS will be linked to a cloud of some-sort, recently it was reported (I cant remember by whom) that Win8 is 'unpirateable'. only way i can imagine that is if it is linked to a cloud. Any thoughts?

They said the same thing about Vista and Windows 7.
