Way I read your reply it seemed just because a game has a beta it's fail, just because it includes the public it's fail.

Oh, not at all, just that Joe Public that does get the pre-order specifically for the beta would likely be a bad beta tester.

The whole point of this thread was to make other people who liked Trine aware that pre-ordering is opened and they are welcome to pre-order it if they wanted to, not that they must pre-order and must partake in the Multiplayer beta, not the actual full game beta.

That bit I was fully aware of when I commented, just wanted to add my 2c about the current industry trend

more helpers less free riders.

I do hope it works out that way. Hopefully the devs will find a way of including as many people in beta's without compromising the quality of feedback they receive; That'd be win-win for the devs, publishers, and the over-eager consumers.

Regrettable I have to inform you that your 2c is worthless

Maybe it be better to scrap the whole beta access with pre-ordering and go with something like early access of few days with the completed product where it's viable. Besides that would in the case of BF3 give the people that's hosting a chance to oil up on lesser numbers. There is also which works good imho that you are entitled to fist dlc and something extra for free or discount voucher(s).

I'd really curious to see how GrimDawn pans out where you get access early if you donate towards the cause by pre-ordering now.

That'd be a great compromise between the extremes, IMO.
