a mate of mine got the following
9800gt 1gb,
QX9650 3Ghz Core2Extreme.
Asus Maximus Extreme Motherboard,
Corsair XMS3 DDR1333 4GB x 2

he just wants to know if that will run Bf3 fine for now. he getting the 560ti early next year but wants bf3 to run lakka for now

will it run alright on that rig?

I'm running BF3 on the same rig, just got a GTX460 TOP and it runs pretty good. The 9800GT might be a push but I'm sure it should work. My buddy playing on low on a 9600GT and he gets some bad LAG now and then.

Do you guys think it will be worth buying a new gpu now? When is the new series due?

what size screen are you running? Im wondering whether a 5770 will work with a 32" FHD 1080p for BF3

My GF is running everything high 1080p with no lag whatsoever with her 5770, should be fine. Not sure her fps, or mine for that matter o_O haven't bothered to check. Think I'll check this afternoon.
