Can't watch the video at work but I reckon if released now as it was then, it would probably do very badly as to the lack of innovation etc. However it is still a good game measured by other aspects hence the reason why it is still played by some, so I would classify it as a lil gem that would gain a nice sized following.

checked this on reddit the other day. It is absolutely so so so true.

Me and a mate used to do all those tricks on a daily basis, our own speedruns to compete with each other.

Cookie cutter made for 12 year old games of today will never be that awesome

    Thanks, great video.

One of the things that especially irks me is when games have adverts that you cant skip when the game starts up. Like, why? Why do I care? I bought your game, and you still want me to sit through adverts? Even worse, its not like I can buy ScaleForm. Or like I would buy games based on whether they used ScaleForm. I dont even know what ScaleForm is! If I ever release a game (I'm making one now, lets hope I release it!), it will not have any of that in it. In fact I want it to say, in DOS font on a black screen, that it is running in the DOS4GW Protected Runtime, just because. Older people like me will get it. Maybe I'll have it say "Warning: Not enough EMS. Buy some more XMS and then configure the IRQ of your MIDI device to match your DMA."

Remember the separate setup.exe and sound configuration? That sound tester thing that played left channel, then centre, then right? And a separate music test. Graphics? You could select resolution if you were lucky.
