Sure, when I was a kid, I got some proper discipline when I crossed the line, but never ever did I get beaten (and it is beaten, not disciplined) in such a way.
There is obviously some information that we don't have behind the story, but to say that 'little bitch deserves a whole lot of discipline in her life' is just disgusting. No one deserves to be beaten like that, even if they did deserve discipline.

@ kaytel - if you don't know where to draw the line between discipline and abuse, maybe you shouldn't have kids until you do have some idea. Same goes for you wheunis.

As some people have pointed out, getting a proper smack from your folks once in your life is character-defining. It then stands to reason that if it's day-in, day-out, that would also be character defining, and not in a good way. For those of you who are skeptical as to whether this is abuse, maybe you should google actions normally exhibited by the beater and the beaten. It may give you some insight into why this lady acted the way she did.
