    Best of all worlds.
Would gladly download it, alas, UT3 found my recyclebin and my DVD was last seen near my leftover KFC boxes in the kitchen.........

    hehe.

After my last ordeal struggling my arse off just to get connected to our damn servers, I just gave up. DEL-ETE-ED.

ONe thing I have yet to try though is the physics maps to LAN. Only played against bots as alot of ppl dont have computers capable of runnin those maps.

That to me is definitely something for them to look at with the next UT.

If they can get it playable on midrange pcs, semi destructable enviroments on ALL maps would be awesome for mixing things up a bit. specially in CTF and other team based modes!

Can I have your cd key
UT3 copies are nowhere to be found...

Dependant on the map, physics doesnt really add that much to gamplay wise. I found that people enjoy the simpler Quake Style maps. Not only are the performance great, they look good and have some of the best gameplay.
Ironically the more complicated and decorated a map, the more people seem to hate it.

Have a friend that's really good in quake3. He likes the quake remakes and hates most of the UT3 maps except biohazzard.

After playing HoN it's easy to see why UT3 failed online, they really need to rework the entire online system and drop gamespy for good. There was so many players lost due the inability to connect to the servers.

Think I'm one of few people that can actually host a game of UT3 online. It's just too complicated.

See, thats why I meant , from what I could understand from those forum posts back then. The overcluttered the maps, to much detail, to show off what UEngine 3 can do, but that alone lost a whole lot of customers to the UT franchise.BUt we live in such a day and age, that if they had it more UT2004 or UT99 style, more simplistic, we would have complained about them not detailing it more lol.

    Just read Sweeny's comments
    ... *cries

Although, I'm sure I'll be crying even more when UT returns in the near future ... hopefully sooner than later.

First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.

UT3 makes a good LAN game. Don't think they'll ever be huge numbers online though in South Africa.

First off it was overpriced at release.

The price never decreased until the arrival of UT3Black where it dropped below R100
The problem is it was a clearance sale so those were basically the last copies of UT3 to be sold in South Africa.

Unlike COD4 which was reasonably priced and got a GOTY edition, meaning it got restocked.

So a lot of people playing it at LAN doesn't have an original copy and can't get one. The only way I know of getting a key is through steam.

I would like to play some custom maps online though. Exspecially the ne posted earlier, UT3 is missing good maps.
