I tend to agree with you. But I reckon that a lot of people will moan about that if that were to happen. Remember the conversation we had one day about the seriousness vs silly-ness of GTA? I kind of think that the same principle can be applied here. A lot of people will hate to be limited in that way, even though it makes sense to only be associated with one current faction exclusively.
    That's what she said.

I think you would stuggle to get to level 20 just with Smithing, cost me almost 2K gold to increase it from 40 odd to 60 which only bumped my char level by 1 & a half.
Yeah, but if you manually gather all the ore and smith yourself, you level it up rather fast. I'm a level 68 smith at level 29 now. :P

One nice feature is that enemies stay dead, unlike other rpg's if you exit and re-enter the area, they respawn, which is highly irritating if you're just passing through the area and have to kill them over and over again.
Enemies do respawn in dungeons, but someone told me it happens at 720 hours intervals, which is pretty decent. That way you don't run out of enemies to kill. Oblivion's interval was only 72 hours, if I remember correctly. Was a bit on the short side.

I actually agree with this. I also feel that guild membership gets thrust on you way too easily. I needed to go to the college in Winterhold for the main quest, and I was forced to join just so I could get inside. :/

Another thing that I find horribly annoying is that people know who you are. Everywhere I go guards go 'Psst, I know who you are. Hail Sithis!' It irritates the shit out of me. I'm a wanted assassin, my entire existence hangs on the idea that I wear a mask in public. People aren't supposed to know I'm an assassin at all.

Yeah im sure the legion will lament it if something like this where to be implemented. Still it would improve motivation to replay with a diff character since some content will be locked up with the choices u make. Its propably the one thing that i really miss in Bethesda games; my choices to feel like they matter. Most "choice" in any TES game or Fallout3 is actually more of a calculation than true choice.

There is a really good Extra Ceditz ep on the topic of choice - Click Me

Yep but thats an entirely new system that needs to be brought it. Think about it; on the one hand your the Dragon Born of Legend, word is going to spread of ur deeds which is easy to implement - Just have ur renown grow inline with the main quest progression. Now lets bring in a trust system & an renown/infamy system. It just stacks. It would be awesome but I can also see why Bethesda didn't bring it in.

Well I am still very early into the game. Really do hope that it does get more difficult. I think I even upped it to its hardest and still didn't struggle.
So if it does get more difficult then I am a happy chappy.

I fough my second dragon on my way to retrieve the horn for the greybeards, kept hiding behind a piece of tree until he comes close enough then i fill him with arrows.he went up to his little nest so i went up after him and drank a few cold resist potions then wasted him.
I did the same, except with magic and Unrelenting Force on Lelel 3.

Also discovered the dragon by chance as I was fleeing from some creeps because I had no health or mana potions with me. Needless to say, the dragon fight took like 15 mins to finish.

But I have killed more dragons since and downed 4 yesterday and learned 3 more shouts.

The enemies are set on a respawn timer. So eventually all those cleared dungeons will be teeming with all sorts of baddies again.

There are some mods on SkyrimNexus that change the Respawn Times of creeps. You can add the files to your game for specific spawn times, one a day, every 2 days, once a week, etc.

Also there is a Real Time mod, changes the time to sync with real world time, instead of 1 game hour = 20 RL minutes, 1 game hour = 1 RL hour.

For those of you that also want to up the difficulty of your game considerably there are two mods you should check.

The first is a mod to Slow Your Leveling and the second is a mod to make Everything Harder - Fuzzys Realism Mod: No quest tracking, no map, no compass, etc.

These might make your game more interesting and difficult for those who thinks its too easy.

I'm absolutely loving it; have done since Morrowind. It's a much more realistic approach to modelling characters in games, IMO, making it more intuitive than pages and pages of THAC0's and AC etc.

I like that. Maybe they will in time. I think they are still perfecting the world. I reckon a few more titles and they will have a lot done and it will blow our minds.

THIS is a good read on choice [or there limiting there of] in games. I have always found myself an advocate of choice but after reading that piece i have a better understanding of why we limit choice in games.
