Thread: MW3 vs BF3

The specs on my machine i would think is about the minimum for BF3 as i get lag every now and then but it is still playable although not ideal because i got my graphics set on low and 1280x1024 so sometimes i get killed because my graphics didnt load fully at some points when running. I have seen people pop up out of nowhere because of PC lag but i would say 90% of the time its fine and i still land up in the top 10 almost every game i play. (except the first few matches of the day when i need to warm up )

    I got a 2.4ghz Core2duo
4gb ram DDR2 667 (yes very underspecced old machine)
geforce 250GTS 512mb ram (Again barely makes minimum with the ram its got)

best shooter game i have EVER played. cant comment on MW3 but BF3 is just the best in my opinion. Played all the other MW games and they were good but nothing like BF3 is.

Well, I have both of them.

BF3 is my first in the series that I've played online though (and i suck at it tbh). And as much fun as BF3 is, it eats my PC alive.

For that I'm choosing MW3, not because it's better, because I can experience it like it should be, or at least more so than BF3. That and the fact that I've been playing almost every CoD game online since CoD4, so yes

I've actually got a friend with your exact laptop spec but only in a PC version and he bought BF3 and let me tell you that game is destroying his PC. Even if he plays it on everything set to minimum, flat, rock bottom with the resolution @ 1024x768 he still has a bit of lag. The only time the game actually runs flawlessly is on 640x480 resolution, and yeah as you can very well imagine it looks like crap.
So my advice rather buy MW3 unless you're planning to upgrade, BF3 is a great game that should be played on a monster machine to really appreciate it, so don't spoil it for yourself.

On Xbox i would say BF3 as MW did'nt really bring any changes from the previous game.

    BF3 for me no question.
    MW3 is just a MW2 dlc.

I still can't believe I bought Black-ops, my sheepdom ended with Blackops....my favorite in the series was COD World At War, not even COD 4 was as much Fun and different IMHO.

I haevnt even seen MW3 being played and am actually not even interested. The COD hayday is over methinks.
Whats really great I think, is that Activision may be getting a bit of a wakup call with the release of BF3 and it's popularity and will not actually inovate their franchise, so there is a silver lining methinks.

    My laptop is a:

    C2D 2.18
    4GB RAM
    Geforce 120M

And literally when I run BF3, It eats my PC alive. After a minute or so my laptop goes into overdrive and overheats and shuts down...

So unless you can upgrade to a PC, get MW3...

Well, playing BF3 online at minimum settings still looks absolutely gorgeous, but it is a bit of a system hog... I'm running an AMD Phenom II X4 810 with 4GB of DDR2 and a Radeon HD 4850, and to get over 40fps I have to play it on minimum.
However, if system requirements are something you've already considered, go for BF3. All issues of which game is better aside, BF3 has populated servers any time of day or night, and the community is much more supportive than MW3's community, which I have nothing against, but the amount of kiddies raging there day and night gets seriously annoying.
