Well, a lot of bugs are hard to replicate, especially on PC. By this I mean different hardware. The developers can't possibly have every combination of hardware available to them, and they won't have as many testers as people who buy the game. There's no way a handful of testers will run into as many bugs as the millions of people who buy the game.

That paragraph is very badly worded but I'm too lazy to fix it.

I'd rather download a day one patch if it would result in a more enjoyable game. The patches are also better for gamers and developers as it enables gamers to fix glitches and us gamers reap the benefits. So it really not all that bad.......

Until your internet is down for a few weeks due to cable outtages etc... Come back then and convince me that you're fine with waiting to play that game you JUST brought a few hours ago.
The issue is that most of the time, without these day-one patches, the game doesn't function at all. Even after said patches they sometimes still dont...

    Not an excuse.
The real story is that developers got lazy. They simply assume that everyone has internet, and if you don't - go get fucked.

If the internet is down you can still play your game and it would only be a problem if there is a game breaking bug in it.

Yes the developers who spend 4 years on a game are lazy. I really hate entitled gamers. Very few day one patches fix game breaking bugs, the amount of games that launch with these severe bugs are few and far between so unless ur game has one of those there should be nothing to dampen your enjoyment of the game. Also everybody does have internet. Just coz you at the ass end of the multivese don't, why should that bother us in the developed world?

There is a reason PC gamers are very biased. gaming is not just gaming in some people's opinion.

I dont really want to get into arguments why PC is better than console. I too own a console and it has its uses but it nowhere near competes with my 4 year old PC. The reason I dont like consoles as a gaming method is that you can have a mouse and keyboard work on a console but the developers refuse to implement it into their games becasue it gives an unfair advantage to those who have to use the control.(use a damn filter and when creating a server specify control only, k/b and mouse only, both etc..). If they would just implement this I would have no issue with a console. And theres no ways a guy with a control will ever beat me with a mouse and k/b - I will even go into a competition to prove this point if needed (This is obviously for games that i specifically need a keyboard/mouse like FPS's). But anyway this is not the point of this topic.

I agree games are being made sloppy and the day one patches prove it. Most times i think developers are trying to push their games out before the their competitors and not testing their game 100% which is causing day one patches. Dont get me wrong, the patches are needed and well appreciated but i still feel that it should be tested over and over and over as many times as necessary to make sure there is no need for a day one patch.

games are getting more complex but thats not our problem. they pay highly skilled developers and many of them to fix these problems. I mean if we apply this logic to other things we buy. Buy a modern merc and its much more complex than a merc made 20years ago. But you dont see that merc come out the shop with the GPS not working, or the new fancy dashboard buttons not doing what they supposed to. They make sure that everything is working 110% before they release their stuff (sure a merc costs tons more than a game but surely they dont sell 5-6million mercs on launch day).

I also agree with Sou1Co11ector that alot of people are to blame, The second a game gets delayed everybody goes into a riot and starts moaning and complaints left right and center. People are selfish and it causes alot of the games to be pushed out faster than they should because the developers are scared to lose money. But its a catch 22.. either release late and have people that complain or release when you say you were and have people compalin about bugs or day one patches. At the end of the day its a game and its meant to make you happy and its meant to have fun, I just wish people would realise this and stop taking it so seriously.

I agree. I don't mind the patches at all...only people I can see that might moan is people with 3G cards & capped accounts.
