Need For Speed: The Run review (PC) - MyGaming

If you don’t take yourself too seriously and enjoy the simplicity of pure arcade-styled racing then The Run is a must-have

Heh, that's rather a pity. For all EA's bitching about Activision pumping out generic shooters year after year, they do much the same with Need for Speed. Hot Pursuit was probably the only decent NFS title they brought out since Most Wanted, and even that was more a Burnout title than an NFS title.

Hot persuit wasn't all that great really. I agree though that most wanted was the best in the series thus far. Either way I'll give this one a chance.

The 30fps cap kind of defeats the purpose of the smooth running Frostbite 2. I see this is becoming more common now for console-PC ports, LA Noire/NFS the Run...

Hopefully someone will work out how to edit the config file to unlock the frame limit, at least until they bring out a patch to fix that.

Who cares? I RALLY want this game. Been looking forward to it for quite some time. I love that they are taking the franchise is a slightly different direction. Trying something new. At least they are not completely rehashing the same thing over and over and over and over, like some other franchises...
