I am always curious how the scope of these kinds of books translate into visual entertainment mediums. There is just so much to a lot of these Fantasy Novel series that make things very complicated.
Now I just wish they would make a movie / series / game from The Malazan Book of The Fallen series by Steven Erikson. Now that is some great non-cliched fantasy!
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooo
I think that the Books should just remain that, books. Dont ruin it by making a movie. It's almost impossible to put all that content in the books into a movie, and every movie director has the own cut up version of the story.
Still not sure on Brandon Sanderson writing the last book. But when they announced it would be 3 books, I kinda feel that Wheel of Time is becoming a cash in and no longer the writers child.
Making a movie kinda proves all this![]()
Wait... what?
That is the saddest thing I've read all year. Poor Robert will be turning in his grave. I loved the Wheel of Time. I can't wait for it to be finished by Brandon Sanderson.
Now they are doing this? It breaks my heart.
Wheel of Time is sacred. This is a blasphemy I say.
What? Stopped following the progress of the last book (tried to put it out of mind so waiting wouldn't be so crap) but you say it's being split into 3 now? Just finish the damn story already.
Rand can go screw himself. Mat and Perrin FTW!
Edit: I see it's for games and not a movie. This could actually be quite interesting.

It can actually make for good games.
I was shocked when I saw who it is that will be writing the scripts for the games. We'll have to see how it goes. Is this the guy's first venture into writing a script for a game? It looks that way.

They made a Wheel of Time game quite a while ago ... can't remember when exactly.
Didn't make much of a splash - I never got around to playing it myself.
Anyways - I agree about the movies (even though that's not what's being discussed here - but I'm tossing my 2c in anyways) - seeing the amount of injustice being perpetrated on the Harry Potter series, I don't want a movie maker anywhere close to the Wheel of Time.
Yeah, oops, I just got so worked up with screenwriters ripping into a book that I forgot it was a game and not a movie >.<(even though that's not what's being discussed here - but I'm tossing my 2c in anyways)
I actually watched lord of the rings again movie [first one] again last week... it was cool the first time, but being more critical of it, they arent actually that well done, feels so... short... and jumping around plot points.
PS. I hate harry potter![]()
Wait... what?
