The first WOT game didn't have anything to do with the books storyline. It was an FPS where you were an Aes Sedai that went around collecting different angreal to cast different weaves.
It got some good reviews but I never really got into it. Played it before I got into the books, so I might enjoy it a bit more now.

I actually watched lord of the rings again movie [first one] again last week... it was cool the first time, but being more critical of it, they arent actually that well done, feels so... short... and jumping around plot points.

    PS. I hate harry potter
lotr isnt perfect, far from it. But if you look at the books there is such a wealth of info in there that it would be impossible to make a movie about all of it. You would have a trilogy or guadrilogy for 1 book. It remains a decent attempt though, better than many.

I loved the HP books. But Hate the movies.

I like the books ... but I despise the movies - especially from #3 onwards. The books got too big for a single movie, and Dumbledore got a new actor.

And anyone who knows the Wheel of Time series knows that there's a LOT of material - if a game gets done right it would be summed up by one word - EPIC

Heresy. The LoTR films are epic.

As for jumping around plot points - you must appreciate that film is an entirely different medium to literature. What works in a book won't necessarily work in a film. It's about sticking to the main points, and leaving the audience to fill the gaps in between.

I know Peter Jackson also came under fire for changing some minor narrative elements. Even as a long-time lover of the books, I can't deny that Tolkien was an inconsistent writer. Some of his ideas just don't really work in the greater context - Faramir being able to turn away from the Ring, for example, in the Two Towers. Sure, Tolkien wanted to paint Faramir as a better man than his wretched brother, but investing him with the sort of unprecedented resolution to disregard the One Ring totally undermines everything we'd read about the power of the Ring up until that point. I agree entirely with Jackson's decision to change this accordingly.
