To be honest, I think Sales people who don't know anything about their products are just plain lazy. I don't expect one person to know absolutely everything but I do expect them to know the fundamentals at least. I used to work for Edgars as a jewellery consultant but also had to have some cellular knowledge because it was also part of the job. After a few months 2 of the permanent staff in the department were fired for stealing and I, along with the other staff member had to take over. Within a year I was even training the lady who was there way before I was. I was seriously schooling this chick. Even other stores were phoning me for info. Why? Because I read absolutely everything I could about cellphones. GSMarena, Techarena, Gizmodo, etc. I even subscribed to email notifications from manufacturers. Heck, I even bought PC Format and NAG magazine just so I can answer every question a customer throws at me and we didn't even sell PC's at the time. Takes a few hours a week. But I partly blame companies for not sending staff to training sessions. In 2 and a half years, I went to 1 training session and I had to go on my off day.

Well - reflecting upon it after this weekend - i prefer the staff with no knowledge that at least do SOME AMOUNT OF WORK...
Went into Game. I needed to buy something.
Looked around; Didn't find it.
Someone arrived to my rescue around 2 minutes later. Not too bad, I mean I have had far worse than 2 minutes.
He doesn't know where it is. He will find out.
He comes back 3 minutes later and points me in the right direction.
I find what I want, but it's locked in a cage.
I grab the nearest employee I could find, and he advises that I need to talk to "that lady with the keys".
I tell him to call her for me. He does.
She continues to chat with her friend and they're playing with each other's hair.
...
...
20 Minutes later.
I am now staring at her with pure disgust.
(I partly remember that whole WWJD thing - so I set her on fire and sent her ass to hell - in my mind anyway...)
I walk over and with medium-irritated tone and volume announced to her that I do NOT, in fact, have all day.
She looked at me and sneered.
I walked off a few paces to cool down...
Did I mention that I still have some lingering self control issues left-over from anger management issues?
Yes, I'm looking at you webcam; My latest victim!
Around 25 minutes later I lost my composure.
I grabbed the nearest item I could find. This turned out to be a keyboard on display.
Aforementioned display item proceeded to propel out of my hands at great speed, quite inexplicably.
Now airborne display item rocketed with a nice arch to connect quite accurately with "lady with the keys'" head.
I proceeded to point and laugh at her as I marched myself to the store manager to lay a formal complaint and also get that item out of the cage...
Even if the complaint goes nowhere (which really, she should get fired...) - I still have the satisfaction of it all.
(Also let this serve as a warning to anyone working any sort of service industry in Nelspruit... make DAMN sure I'm not near anything sharp when you decide to ignore me...)
There are all sorts out there... one of the worst, client or salesperson, is one that knows just enough to be dangerous but not enough to actually do good.
At least people that no nothing usually accept that and move on, the persob with a little knowledge proclaims to know everything yet is just doing bad.
If this person is a salesperson then it is the fault of the manager not knowing the capabilities of his/her staff.
There is plenty of incompetence laying around in many industries. I don't think it is only/mainly the staff issue.

To lose your cool and assault someone, physically or verbally is not going to resolve the issue or improve the situation.
Probably not..... more like bring you a lawsuit
You should consider going to see a doc.
