Jeez, this takes me back. The first game I had was actually a demo for Commander Keen: Aliens Ate My Babysitter.. Such a great game. For so long, the word aliens was the one that I could type fastest, as it was the exe's name![]()
Wow yes, I remember Commander Keen, I never played any of the others though. I think the 5 games I remember are:
1. Contra
2. Jungle Strike
3. The Dig
4. Neverhood
5. G-Police
They're not all that old but if I think back to my younger gaming years these are some of the titles that stand out as the ones that had me on the edge of my seat.
Nothing is permitted, everything is true.
i remember jamming the side scrolling duke nukem on my old dos pc.
max payne was the first game i ever got "hooked" on though. i remember i would be late for stuff cuz i was jamming max payne
so bad yet so good!!
I can remember playing commander keen and battlechess. Although I might have played a later version - battlechess 2000 or something like that.
Some fond memories of ooold games are:
Ghettoblaster, pole position, Olympics (gymnastics vault, diving, running etc) on the commodore 64.
On the 286 playing Iceman (I still have that cheesy intro music in my head! with the guy coming out the submarine, in fact I remember so much about this game felt like played it yesterday), Hugo (name is fuzzy but it was a detective game where you had to type actions, I just remember being stuck in a garden hedge maze for what felt like an eternity) and lastly Spy vs Spy (top view car game where you could take different cars/boats, some could shoot and it had that very catchy theme song playing the whole time
These were among the first games ever played. Later came things like DOTT, space quest, Kings quest etc - the usual suspects of classics.
