I liked Jade Empire as well.

As to the thread my vote goes Dragon Age without any doubt. Every thing I have seen of the game and there's tons just screams Baldur's gate without the dnd license. Add to that that most of the neverwinter nights modders(at least the well known ones) have indicated they are moving over to DAO and it can't fail. Won't be for everyone since it doesn't have mutliplayer but I have always preferred single player for story driven rpgs so that's no issue for me.

Most Bioware games are way more complex than this. For DAO you will have to make crucial decision concerning which origin you chose, which class and race. Then you also need to make choices concerning which party members to allow in. There are a lot of decisions which changes how the game plays out.

For its inevitably long lifespan and multiplayer, Diablo III.

Mass Effect 2, Dragon Age, Modern Warfare 2 and Borderlands, all going to be great games that I'm dying to get my hands on, but IMO, Diablo III is going to outlive them by many years and the and the servers are going to be flooded by millions of players.

the 1st one isnt what i would call short, however some of the levels are repetitive like the driving levels wich becomes boring over time, i also found the interactivity lacking, if you look at a 10 year old game like Sega's shenmue the ea nad bioware should try and get those levels of incredible interactivity into future mass effect games.

I hope ashley returns in the second one

It sure felt short to me, but maybe because I did not bother with all the vehicle exploration parts because I felt little need to do so. Personally I felt that most of the driving bits added little to the gameplay experience, and quickly became a chore.

But I do 100% agree that it needs more interactivity on many levels!

How many hours was the average play-through? I can't seem to recall. Because honestly, for me, 40hrs is about right for a good RPG, with and extra 40++ hrs for extra content (maybe it is my JRPG's talking to me ).
