hehe, so it goes
Glad you got your problems sorted man.
Wlad, you need more help on anything just give any of us a holla'. Will help you to the best of our abilities, mmmmkay?![]()
I forgot to mention Spybot Search and Destroy and Super Anti Spyware.
I would recommend AVG (freeware version) if you are strapped for cash and then NOD32 (Eset) if you have some money to spend for AV.
NOD is one of the best AV's I've ever used.
Most AV's have Spyware built in, although some spyware modules are just utter tripe in some AV programs.
Sunbelt's CounterSpy is one of the best Spyware apps I have used (it's not free). Sunbelt also released their own AV (Vipre - not free) and they have a personal firewall product too. Many people love and vouch for both these products.
You can do with some proper firewall software as well on your computer, but this can be technically challenging to some. Quite a few vendors sell their products as full suites (AV+Spyware+Firewall+Web Security+Identity Protection), and Eset is one of those (their Smart Security product) and Sunbelt, as mentioned above.
Sunbelt - http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Home-Home-Office/ (listing all their products I mentioned)
Eset - http://www.eset.co.za/ (listing the AV and full suite)
AVG also has full suites (not free), I cannot vouch for them unfortunately - http://www.avg.com/221
There are freeware alternatives for all these (although they may not be as good as those you pay for):
AVG (AV) - http://www.avg.com/product-avg-anti-virus-free-edition and Avast - http://www.avast.com/eng/programs.html (there is a Linux version too)
Spybot (Spyware) - http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
Comodo (Firewall, with builtin AV) - http://personalfirewall.comodo.com/ and Sunbelt Personal Firewall (they have a freeware version with limited features) - http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/home-...onal-firewall/
Any good AV should be scanning HTTP web traffic too these days, since this is how trojans / viruses / worms infect your computer and how phishing attacks are initiated.
Your browsers should also be protected as much as possible, via Ad Blocker programs and No Script. Firefox has some nice add-ons for these.
Here is a link with a lot of good suggestions, to make sure you stay and remain safe on the Internet. I have not used all the products on this list, although I have used / am using most of them - http://www.firewallguide.com/freeware.htm
NB!! PLEASE USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. PLEASE BE CAREFUL ABOUT JUST INSTALLING ANYTHING. MAKE SURE APPLICATIONS ARE REPUTABLE! DO PROPER RESEARCH FIRST.
You only really need to pay attention to know what can happen to you if you are not protected when browsing / accessing the Internet. So, rather be safe, than sorry.

What the mind can conceive, it can achieve.
Nice list lilDeath, though I'd go with Avast antivirus or Avira over AVG. AVG has been pretty terrible in my experience.
I've heard from ppl AVG with combination of malwarebytes works pretty well.
But in personal experience AVG(free edition) has been pretty terrible :/
