    Don't Starve

Don't Starve is a survival game with Tim Burton style graphics. I haven't played too many survival games but in the beginning it reminded me a lot of Terraria just with an isometric type of view. However I quickly realised that Don't Starve is a much more challenging game, especially since it features permadeath. Every time you die you have to start again in a new randomly generated world.

At first I played without looking at guides or wiki entries but eventually I did have to read up on how to survive properly. My first two deaths were handed to me by a big living tree and I wasn't able to figure out how to kill it on my own. The game tells you nothing. You have to figure everything out by trial and error. Which I found a lot of fun in the beginning but after dying a couple of times it becomes a bit monotonous.

I love the look of the game and it really is fun at times but after 11 hours I've become a bit bored with it. I haven't even opened a door to the adventure mode yet which apparently tells a story but is very very hard. There's DLC for the game though and various mods which I haven't tried. So eventually I'll play Don't Starve again but for now I just can't see myself starting all over again.

Plus Don't Starve Together is currently in Early Access and will be given away for free to people who own Don't Starve when it is released. So it's definitely a game that I'll come back to.

It's not a must play game but it will keep you entertained for a while and that's good enough.

    The Moon Sliver

Well that was a quick one. 0.6 hours according to Steam. That's how long it took me to finish it. This is now the second Unity made game that I've played this month and both sucked. In fact I'm very surprised to see that The Moon Sliver has Mostly Positive reviews on Steam. The idea behind the game is a good one. The actual execution is exceptionally poor.

I like walking simulators and this good have been a good one. I don't even mind the bad graphics and that you have to read everything. It's the locks to get into areas, the underground maze, the disjointed story telling. Some people seem to love it. I think it's wrong to sell this game for money and I'm glad I got it as part of a bundle.

    Valiant Hearts (PS4)

You play as four characters during World War 1, all connected to each other in some way. Not that difficult though some puzzles did have me scratching my head at first. Solid game with a good storyline (bit emotional at times). 8/10

    SAINTS ROW IV

Saints Row IV kicks off with a stealth mission where you save America and rewarded by being appointed the President of the United States.
Now being a gang leader ,you have a different approach to running the country and how things are done.
Unfortunately that all comes to a stop as....wait for it...aliens attack earth, kidnap your white house staff and you and place you in what looks like the Matrix.

From there you have to free your homies by using your super powers which you get as you progress in the game. The weapons you acquire are quite bizzare yet totally awesome like the Dubstep gun(yes you read right),with each customization skin for the Dubstep gun you get a different sound.Man I wish they were real, killing people with the sound of awesomeness.

There is no actual nudity in the game as they are mosaic-ed,there are alot of suprises in the game, for those who played the first two Saints Row games(some ppl return from the dead).

You get to kill aliens and zombies...yes zombies. Your character is transformed into an 8bit character, where you play a game within a game,(INCEPTION).

You get to drive cars, alien spaceships, you can steal anything that has wheels, lol, even a commercial airplane.
The fun part is also in destroying anything and everything.

You have a choice on completing all the side tasks,I suggest you do them all as you will become stronger, faster and get better weapons, which you will need to fight the main boss....and get a special game ending, which you WILL enjoy.

PS,this game has some strong language,so it's not advisable for children.

    Blackguards 5/10

Lack of weapons and armor and enough points for skills is really getting me down. Turned it down to easy after a few battles or normal it was just boring.
The unnessasery drawn out battles are just getting me down. Some battle fields are massive and then you have this one archer on the edge of the map and all you have is melee characters and your range hero keeps missing and you have to take 4 to 6 turns to get to that side of the battle field to just kill that one archer. Also a few battle fields makes it imposible to get past wihout some luck involve since the path is only one hex large and monsters keep spawning so as soon as you defeat that monster a new takes its place and you can't move forward.

    Stacking
You stack things, thankfully not boxes. Seriously, were is Box Stacking Simulator(tm) 2015 though?

So, Stacking is a puzzle game by Double Fine. You're a real ... I mean special boy! As young Charlie Blackmore you can control other living Matryoshka dolls, jumping inside them one size at a time (totally not creepy), each having their unique abilities to solve quite humerus puzzles. There are 5 open levels, with each level having between 3 and 6 puzzles to complete. There are also multiple ways to complete each puzzle. It's fun to figure them all out yourself. If you do get stuck however, there is a hint system in place.

Even though the game is relatively short, with each level only taking about 2 hours to complete, it starts to overstay it's welcome near the end. In typical Double Fine fashion, the game oozes charm during it's many cutscenes, unfortunately the mechanics show little evolution over the course of the game and it quickly turns into a grind. It's best played for short periods at a time, maybe as a 'palate cleanser' between other games. At least that was a problem I encountered. Trying to play through it in one sitting made me incredibly bored, it is a very casual game after all. Arguably, by the time you get to the game's best level, The Lost Hobo King DLC (which is included for free on the PC version), I was so over it that I didn't enjoy it as much as I should of. It's a pity, because it was really well done and funny.

Stacking definitely isn't bad, in fact quite the opposite. However, it's one of those rare games that I would have preferred to watch as a short film. The cutscenes are absolutely brilliant, but the gameplay quickly becomes boring and monotonous. Maybe like Charlie Blackmore himself, they should've made it a bit smaller.

Overall, you'll have a pretty good time. I wouldn't recommend buying it at full price though. It's often on sale for almost nothing, personally I got it in a Humble Bundle. Give it a try, it's a unique concept, that's for certain.

    Lone Survivor: The Director's Cut.

Ugh, second game already of the year that I'm not going to finish.

Lone Survivor has gotten such good reviews and I love the idea of a 2D Silent Hill but the game and I just never really got along. In fact I didn't play games that much this week because it feels like a chore to play Lone Survivor. The game character constantly moans about being either tired or hungry. Monsters are very difficult to either avoid or kill and after dying a couple of times in the basement I decide to just give up. I cheated and watch an ending or two on Youtube now.

I can see why people love it but it's just not my kind of thing. I love Silent Hill. And I appreciate what they were trying to do here but in my opinion it could have been done much better. It started off on the wrong foot when I couldn't even remap the keys and had to press buttons to try and get a decent aspect ratio. The player character's mask looks like a constant big grin and he can't go more than 5 minutes without having to eat or sleep.

I'm probably about halfway through and it's a short game but no. I try to finish most games I play but I'd rather have a good time when gaming.

    Wolfenstein: The New Order
This game was awesome. If all FPS games were this good, I'd play them more often. Finished this game a 2 weeks ago so can't remember if there were anything that could have been better, but as far as I'm concerned, I'd rate this game 10/10.

No guts, no glory, no brain, same story.

    F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin

First things first. How's about that ending? Haha it was completely unexpected and actually pretty disturbing.

As for the game, well it was some mindless action and I quite enjoyed it. After playing something like Outlast this wasn't scary at all but I don't think it was meant to be all that scary. It's got some good jump scares that I enjoyed though. And the gameplay is pure mindless shooting. It was relaxing and I'm glad that I finally got around to playing it.

I also thought the game was the perfect length. Just as it was starting to become a bit boring it reached the end.

It's far from perfect but enjoyable nonetheless.
