"I really want to love this game, but I feel like it's punishing me for playing it. Games should make you feel relaxed, and shouldn't frustrate you. I constantly have this feeling that the game is buggy and isn't made super user friendly. That's sad, man, that's so sad."
That's a quote from one of the Steam reviews for the game and I agree completely.

I played so many hours of Transport Tycoon back in the day. It gave me hours of joy. It was a masterpiece and I thought Cities in Motion would be the same.

I was wrong.

In my friends list I've got 7 people who own and have played Cities in Motion. 3 couldn't reach one hour. 1 made it to just over an hour. 1 to 3.4 hours and then there's czc with 46.6 hours! So obviously the game appeals to some people at least.

My biggest annoyance is the user interface. It fights against you. I quit the game after two hours because for some reason I just couldn't select stops for my tram line anymore. I don't know if it's because of a bug or because I did something wrong. I just know that I just can't get that trime line to work at all. I got the one in the tutorial to work. I got bus lines to work. All kinds of things.

But I was stumped. And it was annoying. Even more so because earlier I was lying tram tracks and I got to a point where the game didn't want to continue laying tracks on the road that I selected. It would show green and I would click and it would make a sound and nothing would happen. I had to delete those tracks and follow a different route. I still don't know why.

It's frustrating. The game is fighting against me. And not in the right way. So I quit. 2 hours in. Czc, I take my hat off to you that you were able to get so many hours of hopefully fun filled game time out of Cities in Motion.
