I did just about everything there is to do in single player Dragon Age Inquisition and it took a very long time. It's the longest I've ever taken to finish a single player game. It took me months and I loved the journey. However I'm going to take a long rest before even considering the DLC.
Firstly, this game is huge. Don't even think of starting to play it if you don't have the time or are prepared to set aside a couple of weeks or months. The previous Dragon Age games aren't even half the size of this one. I didn't even touch multiplayer.
I enjoyed the story and the epicness of it all but I have to admit that the fighting gets a bit tedious. They could have had more story and less fighting and gathering resources. The game is exceptionally relaxing though and is probably a bit more casual than the previous games. It's also very easy. I played on normal and never had any problems. Except if you try and fight dragons before you get to the required level.
OOooooo and the dragons! They are amazing. Before you get to fight them they will fly over you or you'll find them sleeping or at one point you even find a dragon fighting a giant. And you can view at all from a distance and stay out of their way. It's things like that that I loved about Inquisition. It just felt so epic and so well thought out. It's truly high fantasy of the highest calibre.
It's definitely not a game for everyone. It's long, dialogue and mmo style fighting intensive with a lot of time wasters. It's my kind of game but I can see other people getting bored with it. Especially people looking for action. The action here is more of a casual mmo style fighting that won't appeal to everyone.
There's a huge variety of things to do though and some of the missions are really just astonishingly good. The characters are varied and well acted and as with previous Bioware games you get to become romantically involved with someone if you wish to do so.
I loved it and it was a great experience but I'm also a little glad that it's over now. Bioware, please, less filler content next time!
