I have been looking for a good action hack and slash, and Shadow provided just that. With great graphics and a fighting system that feels natural with heavy punches and great finisher moves, it comes very close to the Batman Arkham games as far as gameplay. The story was... ok. I kept forgetting what I was supposed to be doing. I found myself stalking orcs and slaying them without being detected. Othertimes I would charge them head on, riding caracors and making a real nuisance of myself.
The stand-out feature is supposed to be the orc's ranking system where you can help certain orcs become war chiefs, or where you need to slay others to weaken their ranks. It works pretty well, even though it is a boss battle system where you can decide who the bosses are.
Overall the game was certainly worth my while. I picked it up for cheap and was not disappointed at all! Well worth a play from anyone who likes action, or even has a slight interest in Middle-earth games.
