The best stuff:
- The story is very good. And I liked the way it's presented ... it's quite novel (excuse the pun)
- The look & feel is awesome. This is my first "horror" game, so i don't have a benchmark, but Alan Wake definitely gets it right in my book (excuse the pun). There are so many times in this game where you'll be running through an empty section of the woods or a scrapyard thinking "I am so gonna get dead here".
- Night springs tv shows are quite entertaining.
The not so good stuff:
- On Normal, it's not difficult at all (...and i consider myself a weak gamer when it comes to difficulty).
- Not the best graphics in the world. Ok, it does work within the context of the look/feel, but it's no Final Fantasy XIII. Cutscenes are also not much better.
- You can almost always run away from a fight with no negative consequence... just get to the next checkpoint and the previous enemies disappear and let you carry on your merry way.
- It's a bit of a short story (excuse the pun)
Overall there's alot right with it, and very little wrong.
I'm not a big fan of pure action games, but the story was intriguing enough to keep me interested.
Definitely worth your time to play through.
