I would suggest looking at the Evetech pc's. They come overclocked with awesome cooling and a warranty!

They tend to be fairly expensive. Usually pre built computers from companies are more expensive then the custom built pc's

I would recommend going with a Sandy Bridge setup.
i5 2500K is about the best bang for buck and offers quite a bit of future proofing because of its overclocking potential.
Will go into more detail once we sort out the rest.

lol Yeah I aim to please
I agree with Joker here, i was looking into a 10k upgrade aswell, the 2500k chip is definitely a good way to go with all the reviews about how much this chip can be overclocked, I also would consider getting an Asus ROG m/b although there are a couple good m/b's on the market. I was thinking of getting the 570gtx although ill wait and see what happens next year when the time to upgrade gets closer.

i personally dont like ATI cards, always read about problems with them whether new or old. maybe its just very unlucky that the ones iv'e come across always irritate the living daylights out of me. I steer well clear of ATI cards. probably could squeeze a 6970 in there but id rather go with nvidia even if it means going a bit over budget to get the same performance. guess its up to the buyer to decide tho
