Maybe with a top class director, we could see (finally) a good games based movie.
I was thinking the same MDoggie. It would be awesome to see what Spielberg can do with Halo.
It would be like Transformers. He is executive Producer and some other person would Direct. Although i loved both Transformers movies i would rather Micheal Bay didn't do Halo. The chap that did Batman Begin & The Dark Knight, he would do something awesome with Halo.

Spielberg may make the movie better than what we expect or he could also fail. We All know game movie are a bit tricky to make, if they follow the storyline maybe they can get away with it but most of the time the usually make up thier own story and that what makes the movie crap

Spielberg is one of those guys with the Midas touch.
I must admit if it had a dark knight sort of feel it would be awesome... just please dont make it as long winded as the watchmen (puts on flame suit)
naaa drop spielburg and get someone like clive barker online- i mean seriously a horror halo ftw
but, spielburg might succeed either in awesome flick or a very yawn movie; just think Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull that wasn't so great, maybe if the man do something with the story as well as too just directing...
...or does the producer also write the story ?
