Default Alan Wake Officially coming to PC

Alan Wake launches on PC during the first quarter of 2012, Remedy has announced.

The Finnish developer said during a press conference in London this afternoon that the game will launch on Steam.

A single screenshot, below, has been released.

The announcement was made at London's Nokia House, as Remedy VP Aki Järvilehto spoke about the company's adoption of digital distribution.

The PC version of Alan Wake will come packaged with The Signal and The Writer, the two well-received DLC add-ons for the game.

What brilliant news this is! I've been wanting to play this since it hit the Xbox.

I really hope it's true was following the game development when it was still rumored to come to PC and then I just "forgot" about it when they cancelled it.

So lets recap. What exactly is Alan Wake?

Alan Wake is a third-person shooter, described by its developers as a combination of "the mind of a psychological thriller", and "the body of a cinematic action game".[10][11][12] In interviews, the game's creators hold that the game does not belong squarely in the survival horror video game genre.[12][13] The game is primarily set in the fictional idyllic small town of Bright Falls, Washington. The main gameplay happens in various areas of Bright Falls – such as the forest, a national park, or a farm – during the nighttime; these are punctuated by calmer, non-combative sequences set during the day.

I really hope it isn't just a badly ported version, which is played best with an Xbox controller. That said, I hope you will be able to use an Xbox controller to play it, I love those things!
