I agree that giggling is unprofessional, I just don't think it's really sexist. I'd have gotten angry too, just not for the same reasons as OP. :P

But as someone before said, you can't expect better from IC. The people who work there think they're the bee's knees because they studied at those crappy computer 'colleges' and then believe they went to real college and that the shit certificate they got at the end is worth anything. I've seen it at the piece of shit college I studied at last year. You can expect more professionalism from a Pick 'n Pay employee, because nobody lied to them to get them to study a bunch of shit.

Salespeople are paid something like R3,500 a month. Of course they don't care. What the hell can you do with R3,500 a month? You're unlikely to give a shit about your job, let alone the (often difficult) customers.

My advice? Become more proactive in your purchasing life: buy online, research things yourself and know what you're getting into. I wouldn't bother entering a store unless you know what you want or are just keen to browse.

how little or how much you get paid is no excuse not to do the job you were hired and agreed to do.

I agree. However, reality often doesn't work that way.

Every single business would have good and bad stories and most likely more good than bad so making a thread about being good or bad isnt going to solve anything.

Joking about her POV of the situation isn't helping either . Every one has their own way of perceiving things. You might think nothing of the person giggling but she didn't think it was nothing and its her right to voice the complaint.

Bad service in store should not have an excuse. Go to the manager and if he is not inclined to help you remember he has a boss, Ask for his regional manager . You as a customer should be helped and that is how it is. Ive had no problems with IC and had good service when i did buy from them.

I myself work for Incredible Connection although i don't have anything to do with their stores, I work at head office. I don't like to see the company I work for get tarnished on a forum I post in every day.
Sorry if this offends you in anyway. This is what happened I needed to say something. I had no intention of offending anyone on this forum I was only seeking advice on what to do about this situation. How ever the store has contacted me. I have sorted the issue management has said that I should come in to see him and sort it out.

The nicest store I have been to where I have no complaints is the one in Cannal walk and Claremont. I am pleased with there service.

To my defence I am not the horrible person that people think I am but I stand up for what I believe in.
Thank - you for hearing my point of view and understanding where I am coming from,'
IC should have more people like you working there the world would be a much better place if they had better sales persons and management such as yourself.I spoke to Edword Manager he was a lot nicer than the first one I spoke to

haha thanx alot. I was not targeting you but rather the people who responded after. complaints have to be voiced otherwise they go unheard and a single complaint turns into hundreds. I was at our complaints dept myself following up on your complaint and did learn they are busy with it.

I hope you and the store manager can sort things out. IF it does not get resolved contact me in person and i will see what i can do.

Anything regarding gaming in Future you can drop me a PM and ill hook you up

I absolutely agree with this statement.I work for below minimum wages. The other day I did a 24 hour shift working my but off, Looking after my niece whilst working and I still had a smile on my face. Was back at work the next day after having a couple hours of sleep next to my niece.I drop her off at school and back at work the next day.I work Sunday to Thursday, so my two off days are rather important.I have only one day for doing house chores and one day for visiting friends and family.I work at crappy internet cafe where the soft ware on pcs and pcs them selves are broken,in my two years of working here I have only received one complaint from a customer, that was when I first started here knowing nothing about pcs,In three days I had to learn everything bout pcs.and how to run the shop.If I can do all this there is no reason why sales people should be rude and not helpful.
I do not believe that the amount of money that you earn gives you the right to treat your customers how you wish.At the end of the day, it is your customers who pay for your wages.
Customers need to be kept happy.Customers always right, that I do not believe.I have been called every name in the book just because I don't take crap yet I have a point and a reason behind everything I do.I can explain everything for my fights with customers.
Good customer relation is an absolute must.

True, if you dont like your job, then leave. The amount has nothing to do with the level of service you provide. End of story.
