Only played the demo. Didn't impress me enough to buy the game.

Sniper Elite's landscaping was rather bland, despite it being a WWII shooter, but damn...bullet cam alone made the game worth playing!

Yeah even considering it was set in blasted to hell Berlin. The Bullet cam was very awesome. I once got a double head shot with the bullet then continuing on and hitting a panzer's petrol tank which then blew up killing 2 or 3 more.

The new kill came looks even better with the whole Mortal Kombat style x-ray view showing the damage the bullet does.

Nicely done! I loved taking 2-for-1's by shooting someone through the jaw and dropping the guy behind him as well. Shooting the petrol caps off the moving tanks was quite hard with all the NPC's shooting at you.

One thing that stood out from this game was the deadliness of NPC snipers. Your ass was grass if you couldn't spot them in time. Definitely not a faceroll shooter game.

Yeah, hitting that cap was near impossible, the one time I did was purely accidental.

I found most of the enemies pretty deadly if you got spotted or didn't scout properly and a squad gets the drop on you. But yeah the other snipers where a real pain. Normally the only warning you would get is the ping of a bullet next to, or in front of you, the next one would be the kill shot.

I never played the first one, so how does this compare to Sniper Ghost Warrior? That game was shit...

Having not played Sniper Ghost Warrior I cant rightly answer that, but I understand that the main issue with it was that it tried to be Call of Duty and a few poor mechanics. Sniper Elite is more Splinter Cell than Call of Duty.

So do you move around in the game? You don't just stay in one spot for a whole mission?

    Yeah it's not Silent Scope.

    Here are a few Screenshots.

You had your Sniper Rifle and then a secondary weapon, I think you started with a silenced pistol but you could pick up dropped german weapons. Since the sniper rifle wasn't silence you would need to time it well or be heard, for close range u had the secondary weapon. Its damage model was rather hardcore and any more than 1 or 2 shots would mean the end of you, especially on the higher difficulty. They where also brilliant at enemy placements and patrols. They would also hone in on your location if you fired too many times with the sniper rifle or other non suppressed weapons.
