I believe we needed a upgrade and yes it should be paid for, But you should have a choice in the matter. The other roads are terrible so you have no choice but to use it. I don't like the fact that taxis are exempt because they over load the taxis and the weight of the taxis contribute more to the damage on the road than me in my little car.
If I carpool with 2 other mates that means that I am also public transport and should there for be exempt to paying ?
It is traveling almost 100Km a day for me and i will be passing about 4 of these tol gates. So i will almost definitely hit the R550 cap .
Another quick fact is that if you dont pay you will eventually get a summons of court for you not paying.
They cant send you 1 saying you have to pay the following amount.
They need to give you a summons for every day for every tollgate that you pass through. So I hit 8 to and from work
So they need to send me 8 for a day and on Saturdays I have to take my Gf to Wits so that is another 5-6 .
so they will have to send me a total off 200 for 1 month,
The legal fees will exceed the R550 they make from me. So they are screwed if people dont pay haha
