I'm going to seriously cry or something. I want to read.... "valve announces half life III"
However it be interesting to see *if* they actually get one out how it would work and all. What I can't wait for at GDC next week is unreal IV engine announcement/trailers next week![]()

If Steambox supports both mouse/keyboard and gamepad and is hassle free with close to next gen graphics it'll be awesome. There's currently just too many PC components and consoles are far too limiting atm. Need a new "standard".

Then it won't be a console since the entire point of consoles is to have a everyone having the exact same system specs. If it can run other software then again its a PC not a console. If this turn out to be anything more than a high concept that valve was playing around with it will either be something like the Alienware X51, which is a PC or its going to go full console i.e. standard set of system specs and stripped back OS.
Will keep an eye out for this.

This looks like someone just read this interview selected a few words and then just made up their own story.
That being said, if Valve did look into this it wouldn't be a 'console' per say, it would be more like a streamlined PC dedicated to playing Steam games.
