It seems that the new discounts must be on media content not available in our region due to intellectual property legalities

I find the store's lack of shopping cart really annoying, especially when you get sales with lots of low priced items. Having to put through a CC charge for each is just stupid and expensive.

I agree 100%.... I mean come one Google....
Surely using shopping baskets is 101 of e-Commerce....

They aren't the only ones, these places seem to think because a store is digital they don't need a cart, Amazon Kindle store is the same you only have the option to one click purchase and the only way to work around that is to load a gift card on to your account.

Switch to a bank without CC charges?

FNB's unlimited option thingy just costs you per month and no additional charges.
