I recently (less than a month ago) bought a Gigabyte GTX 550 Ti card to replace my old GT 220.
The problem I have with the new card is that the display crashes with most games at all but the lowest settings.
I have the latest Nvidia drivers (295) installed after a clean OS (Win 7 32bit) installation.
I tested my PSU (500W) with a multi meter and it does not drop below 11.89v on the +12v rail during the games or during crashes.
When I use MSI Afterburner to de-clock the card from the 970mhz factory overclock to 910mhz, the crash issue disappears. Issues start up again from 930mhz upwards.
Is it safe to assume I have a wonky chip? Or could something else be causing the problem?
I run:
Intel 2.93 Wolfdale Core 2 Duo
4 gig ram (DDR 2 i think)
Asus p5kpl-am se mobo
seagate 500gig SATA primary
