The other night I was playing on XBL and some people were discussing overthrowing several governments and blowing up state buildings.
    It was quite annoying.

Yeah I know what these guys are talking about
I was asked to click and move some units in Iran just the other night by a group calling themselves NOTBASEDINREALITY
Apparently they are hardcore supporters and have already have both the Unicorn and Leprechaun Factions conscripted in their fight against global sanity

Seriously, this is reaching for a reason to explain something that cannot be explained away, no matter which sector you attempt to make the scapegoat for something like this it will always come down to a some fundamentalist faction taking things to the extreme

Using a Chat system like LIVE or PSN makes sense if the Terr's prefer playing while they plot, but why stop there and not assume that they also use other IMs
Take Skype for example, with low cost calling to landlines and bombs with Skype Out, which platform would you be using if you were plotting to overthrow several governments ?

In what can only be sarcastically described as professional journalism of the highest calibre, UK tabloid The Sun has just published a shocking exposé about “Islamic extremists” using – seriously, this is brilliant – Xbox LIVE and PSN party chat to plot evil.
The Sun, seriously? Oh wait thats what all the Morons read, joy now everybody will think this is true. Tomorrow we will read about how government agencies are reading our every text message. Too bad the masses will never consider that if they can read your email they can listen to you talk kak on XBL & PSN, if you can get PSN voice chat to work that is.

If I recall did'nt some Britsh/Irish News channel use home made shaky cam footage of ARMA II showing the IRA blowing up a plane??

    Source:

Here’s an upload of a video from a recent ITV documentary into Colonel Gaddhafi’s support of the IRA. It contains shocking footage of a helicopter being shot down using weapons allegedly supplied by that baddie.

Except. Umm. It’s actually ArmA 2.

Words. Fail. What. How. For goodness sake. UK media, can you stop being shit please.

A similar article was published years ago when I played Alliance, resulting in (I kid you not) a) More than one player from the Middle East adding my bank alt to their friends list and spamming me in Turkish/etc. to the point where I actually dreaded logging on to check my auctions. b) A GM striking up a conversation with me and asking questions like where I was from and what I did for a living. All because I made a bank alt to troll a mate from Durban by yelling "SAMOOSAS – 3 for R2!" in Stormwind ...
