agree with alot that has been said, but it is only that much fun pomping noobs over the interwebz, i mis the entire vibe you get from a lan(a good lan).
I remember the good old days of lanning for a couple of days straight. Can't do that anymore having a family of my own but I still find time to have the occasional lan, it's definitely about the vibe and the people. Most of the time we talk rubbish and show each other vids and funny stuff we've come across lately and when we get around to it we finally play some games.
LAn is where it is at. I a a horrible gamer where ive lost the " play for fun " aspect of it and Iplay to win . gaming has become way to competitve for me and i miss the old days but still it is the same competitve aspect of the pressure of lans .,. People spectating you commenting on every little mistake. Hearing a noob scream when you paint the wall with his final thought .
That for me is lan gaming. Riot lan will be having a mw 3 comp in JHB on the 13th of April . I WILL BE THERE. I dont have a team but ill practise till i find a spot in one haha
On topic. - MPLD ha sbene going monthly in pretoria for over 10 years now.
Frag in Durbs and then OC in cape town![]()
You get your liberty mayhem HPX all those lans in and around Gauteng. You just need to watch out for them![]()
Every 2- 3 months around 20-30 of us goes to OC, this is a DALA, SS tradition with Gatsby's, Steri Stumpies and of course a simply Asia and Nandos meal. We have epic fun playing games like GTA IV, Split Second, COD4, UT etc. It is not really about the games you play but who you go with and the nonsense you talk about....
Last weekend was the last OC at the Velodrome which means that I will not be able to attend for sometime... Gonna miss it tho. OC Cape Town on the alternate months have up to 1000 attendees.
I never LAN and just play online. I hate lugging my equipment everywhere.
