Lucid Mvp...Not something that many of you will recognize...but its technology that is a game changer and an amazing one at that.

New Intel Z77 high end boards will be launching with this amazing but expensive tech, Followed closely by AMD's new Trinity Motherboards...Pushing motherboard prices up by around $50 because of the enormous License fees for this tech.

What is Lucid Virtu MVP:

Virtues MVP is a new technology from Lucid will be available for most cards based on Intel Z77. To do this requires a license in the BIOS makes me think the old boards based on Intel P67 / Z68 will not get a BIOS update to support it. Novelty for MVP Virtue is the option that can work both HyperFormance i-Mode and in d-mode, reducing the GPU work by determining that the frames to be rendered or not. It is much to discuss on this issue and we will do after we test this technology in more detail, until then we only say that promises significant improvement in gaming experiences.

What is HyperFormance:

A new technology which combines integrated and discrete graphics for uncompromised performance and improves gaming frame rates 30-70%. Special highlight here is that HyperFormance is also supported with both ATI™ and NVIDIA® graphics cards.

What it means for you:

The new lucid tech works. It's not a gimmick, it simply attempts to detect when a frame that is being rendered won't finish in time to be displayed. When it does detect that, it throws the frame out and starts working on a new one. This means that when your monitor finally refreshes, the frame being displayed is more up to date than it would otherwise be, hence lower latency on displayed frames. The higher fps is just a side effect, it's not really the point. The point is reducing frame latency and thus improving response time.
